All of my research is Unix based and since Apple's operating system is based on BSD, all my research code runs seamlessly on a mac.

You can share my joy at getting my latest mac by looking at these pics:
http://homepage.mac.com/nmadnani/PhotoAlbum2.html

BTW, this was a one click upload from iPhoto, the photo program that comes bundled FREE with any apple computer.

I want to write so much more but I also have to work and since IBM, rather than Apple, writes my paychecks, I will get back to work Smile

Well, including everything it was about $2300 so in that ballpark I guess. BTW, my config rivals most serious workstations so I didn't mind paying that much.

K. now firstly..
as apple works on high end intel based chipsets.. you need to see if ur motherboard is compatible with the version of x86 mac you load on ur machine..

Anyways if ur system is atleast..
p4 2.66 ghz
700 mb ram and above (i prefer 1 GB)
and enough space in ur hard drive (7 GB atleast) or a spare hard drive then you are ready for this..
and for further info.. as illegal material is not allowed in this forum

I dont think thats particularly necessary. i hav seen OSX running, and i mean really "running" lollz, on a viao under 2GHz, and 512mbRAM

The final question is .... is it really worth buyin an OSX license to run it on a PC when u always have to crack it.. i am of a mixed opinion... So it would still be an illegal torrent download file for me if i choose to go ahead.

A much better option would be to buy a mac, and then dual boot it with Windows XP (will u still want to?) "LEGALLY"..
Personally, though everybody (by that I mean all of us Indians including yours truly) use pirated softwares, atleast OS should be a licensed one (Commercial or GPL)...not for moral purposes but for ur own benefits. Remember, and I think that every software engineer will concur with me , when u break/crack one thing in a piece of software (and in this case, a humoungous piece of software), thats just the first link of a chain which is as brittle as Humpty Dumpty on a 100 Ft. wall..
So, guys invest in ur OS and if you can't then there are always free (as in beer) OS's available.
