:0 , i thought every company increased their package with time. But it seems TCS is following the reverse trend. They use dto offer 2.02 when i passed out and they have gone down to 1.8 now.... |

hey u got the INfy salary wrong.... the pay package even for freshers has increased.. it is around 18,000 p.m - gross...that makes it around 2.16
|

bedi bhai there was a recent increase in infy package this database was a little old and smitz this is the cost to the company i guess u know what that is

as per infy it is not 18,000 pm it is around 16,000 pm. Atleast for no-CS/IT. But I dont think the graduation stream makes any difference. The salary still looks as if we a labourers  |

when u start wrkin .. dont run after the money .. but always target experience and exposure .. bhai paisa to milna hi milna hain ..
infy is hell of an exposure .. infact all other good firms.. keep the money secondary when starting a career |

i dont know abt the exposure... i have not got much technological exposure in the last 1 year.. but yes u learn a lot about leading a professional life and interacting with clients and seniors etc
@gandharb: cheer up a little.. they are giving u 16000 now... but from now on, there will be additional package called TPI - training perforamnce Index... so if u perform good in training.. then ur salary will be 18000, average performance: 17000 and below par: 16000.... this will not be given for first 3 months.. but will be consolidated and given at end of ur training and then for the rest of the year... And 1 more thing.. as u r in aero.. there are high chances that u will land up in my IBU only.. because there is high requirement for mechies and aero pple... though i guess ur deptt will be diffferent.. r u intersted in Designing in CATIA?? if not, better make up ur mind.. because i think... mind u , i think looking at the scene here, that u will land up doing this only... |

Money has never on my mind. Ask any my colleagues or even ML Gupta. They will tell you hope much I wanted to be in Infosys. I didnt even sit for IBM even when I was eligible to sit for the 2nd placemet. I know about the xp INfy gives. The salary point was just an oberservation @WS I am aware of the TPI. I just wanted to make you aware of what was the beginner's salary at present was. Aren't Infy aero ppl moving to Mysore for the airbus contract or smth. I am not very keen on CATIA since I dont have much background in it. But as long as the work is interesting and i get to learn new things I think I shall do well. |

u r ryt.... aero pple are moving in for projects .. and they are good projects... with good onsite opportunities - many of them at Switzerland...regarding CATIA... well its similar to autoCAD u might have studied... and abt the interest: well there is no COding involved here... only making drawings on comp - copying from paper to compu... ( i hope i am not releasing company confidential info here) u see u r intersted or not... but keep an open mind...u will get to know more abt it wen u reach here...but it may happen that after learning java, oracle etc u may not be interested in this kind of job... |

u have a better pseudo than the likes of A-Myth 
@WS I have no xp with CAD/CAM not included in course though I had agrued for it for a long time. HOpe it will be included in new curriculum. If CATIA is what it sounds like I will like it. It will also help with my animation/modelling portfolio, i hope. Also I like coding and learning new languages. Thus, future looks bright. p.s. : After reading Robrt T. Kiyosaki's book, I have a new zeal for learning anything. |
